Do You Have A Spammy Website And Are Not Aware Of It?

There was a time when it was easy to spot spam. it shouted out at you within seconds of visiting the page, the quote was “does it look sound natural when you read it” and if it didn’t you where you stood. In theory spam is where a page is stuffed with keywords, every image is named with suitable alt text with exact match search terms. The Titles, Headers and urls all matched the search term as well as all links to the site would included exact match anchor text. (more…)

So Is Google Panda Still Fit For Purpose

It is now a good 6 weeks or more since the Gary Illyse made the comment that there would be a Google Panda refresh within 2 to 4 weeks, albeit a statement he may have wished he hadn’t made. Why Would You Render Your Pages In Webmaster Tools?

When it came to Google understanding what was on your web pages, the advice used to be to use a text browser like Linux, so you could see what the search engine did. But then it all changed and Google’s advice is now to use the “render” process within WMT’s. (more…)

Exact Match Keywords Why You Should Avoid

Not so long ago, this was the best way to rank high in SERPS. Make sure you have the exact phrases that someone would search for within your content and repeat them as many times as you think you get away with. But there came a time when it became apparent that content as being written for the search engines and not for the real value the content would offer the reader. (more…)

Don’t Just Hand Your website Over, Get Stuck In

Imaging buying the latest CD of your favourite music star, only to find someone else was doing the singing and had been brought in to do the job, because the original artist did not have time. You wouldn’t be too happy right? Or do you think this is an acceptable practice? (more…)

All That Noise About Google Panda And It Didn’t Happen

There are quite a few angry webmasters out there who for whatever reason got caught out in the last Google panda update. It had been promised (well almost) that updates would happen more frequently probably about once a month, so when many lost their rankings from mistakes or whatever there wasn’t a panic, (more…)
