Are You A Mechanic That drives Around In A Broken Down Car?

    Tuesday, June 30th, 2015

You would assume that the best mechanics would drive around in perfectly tuned and solid cars that never breakdown due to their rigorous service schedule and selected quality part selection. My experience, this just isn’t true. the person who fixed my car (and I do trust him) drives around in an old van and you wonder why? (more…)

Don’t Just Hand Your website Over, Get Stuck In

    Thursday, June 25th, 2015

Imaging buying the latest CD of your favourite music star, only to find someone else was doing the singing and had been brought in to do the job, because the original artist did not have time. You wouldn’t be too happy right? Or do you think this is an acceptable practice? (more…)

    Tuesday, June 23rd, 2015

There are quite a few angry webmasters out there who for whatever reason got caught out in the last Google panda update. Tuesday, June 16th, 2015

I got into road cycling later in life, and like many others I got hooked and then when Wiggo won the Tour De France, it put a great big rubber stamp on it. In my professional life I spend most working days looking at my own and other commercial websites, but my interest in bikes meant I had looked at Cycling shop type websites differently, from a customer’s perception rather than a consultant. Monday, February 2nd, 2015

I haven’t visited ezine articles for a while now. But being tasked with removing links on a specific website, I found myself visiting the platform for the first time in a while. The Work Only On My Keywords Sales Pitch

    Wednesday, January 28th, 2015

Like many other SEO agencies, I was very much focused on search terms only, I would research exactly what potential customers would type into the Google search box when looking for the particular services or products of a client. However unlike many other agencies I rarely worked on hundreds of keywords at once. My¬† process was to first focus on the easiest 5 as a quick win to get some traffic, then start adding more and more until the real money making terms kicked in. But on a monthly basis I never focused on more than 5 at a time. (more…)

What’s Going On With These Images

    Monday, January 26th, 2015

There are very clear instructions on how to deals with images, within Google’s guidelines but for a few years now I have struggled with their implementation in some cases. The core idea is this. You name your image concisely, then give a more detailed description with the alt tags. So if your image was of a black dog play in the field. You may name the image “dog.jpg” and include alt tags “black dog playing” as an example. (more…)

    Tuesday, January 13th, 2015

Not so long ago in order to get the best ranking back links were everything. It’s not that they are not important anymore, and for competitive terms, critical, but how we acquire them has radically changed. (more…)

    The Demise Of Authorship

    Wednesday, November 26th, 2014

Google’s attempt to link content with a specific person in order to show credibility and authority has been abandoned after only a few years. Authorship was where you could assign your written content to you Google plus profile, firstly to state “this belongs to me” and secondly where you can associate what was found on the internet with a specialist and thirdly the author would have his/her picture shown within search results.
